The daughter of Syrian immigrants, I was born in the southernmost tip of Texas right along the US-Mexico border. The importance of food and family bridges the Arab and Hispanic cultures I grew up in.

I started gastronomaire in 2021 when I realized I wanted a place to collect my favorite recipes I had created. Before creating my instagram page, I had a ziploc bag in the utensils drawer filled to the rim with my handwritten recipes gathered over the years from when I first started baking as a little girl. Since that time, I have been encouraged to continue creating recipes and adding them to my food blog.

I also noticed that so much of my ideas for recipes come from the different foods I have been able to experience from different cultures. I think the way people prepare, present, and enjoy their food represents so much about their traditions. That’s why I decided to also start my International Food Blog in hopes that people will also be able to draw inspiration from a global palette.
